We built the first one for our son

Our son didn't speak for the first three years of his life. We carried the same fear the whole time: that he'd get separated from us, someone would find him, and he'd have no way to tell them who he was or how to reach us.

So we made something that could speak for him. Silent Shield started at our kitchen table in Fort Worth, and every tag still gets printed and assembled here.

Questions people ask first

Who can see the information?


Anyone who taps the shield sees what you chose to share. That's deliberate, in an emergency nobody should need a password to help. Only you can edit it, protected by your PIN.

Do I need an app or a subscription?


Neither is required. It opens in your phone's browser, and your profile works permanently at no cost. Silent Shield Premium is an optional upgrade that adds scan notifications.

What if the information changes?

Tap the shield, enter your PIN, update it. Takes thirty seconds. The shield itself never needs replacing.

Will a first responder know to tap it?

The printed text on the front is the first thing they read. The tap gives them the details.

What phones does it work with?

iPhone 7 and newer, and most modern Android phones. Android may need NFC enabled in settings.
